Do You Own A Wireless Microphone? Read This…
You probably heard the recent announcement that the upcoming changeover
from analog to digital TV broadcasts has been delayed until June. Originally it was supposed to take place on February 17th.
If you own wireless microphone/receiver…keep reading.
You may experience signal interference and degradation overtime. The FCC announced that frequencies ranging from 698-806MHz (Channels 52-69) will be relocated to public emergency broadcast and telecom companies, so the FCC will prohibit the use of wireless microphones in this range.
Some manufactures of these wireless systems like Sure, Sennheiser are issuing rebates for their systems which falls withing this range.
I own an EW100ENG2-C which I purchased last October, only 4 months ago, and now with this changes, I had to trad it in with Sennheiser and the rebate won’t cover the amount I paid for it so I will end up loosing over $200 just to avoid problems in the future with these prohibition.
It is kind of upsetting being forced to change your stuff and having to pay for it too! But what can you do? It’s either to comply with regulations or not being able to use your old equipment!
